Caledonia & The Civil War
101 Pine Grove Road, Fayetteville, PA 17222-8224
Caledonia Ironworks was burned by the Army of Northern Virginia as it marched eastward to a small unknown village called Gettysburg. Owned by Congressman Thaddeus Stevens, Caledonia employed African-Americans, which made this community a convenient hiding place for freedom seekers on the Underground Railroad. Come learn about our connections to the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments to the US Constitution.
