The Friends of Nolde Forest invite you to a “bluebird box” building workshop!

Join us as we learn all about our native cavity nesting bird species, including the magnificent Eastern Bluebird, and how we can help them flourish and thrive in our very own backyards. Speakers from the Bluebird Society of PA will share their knowledge and enthusiasm with us as we delve into the world of community conservation efforts.

This program will include a talk on cavity nesting birds, their conservation, and what our role is in helping protect them. Afterwards, participants will get the opportunity to build their very own “bluebird box” from a pre-cut kit which they will take home with them at the end of the program. Instructions will be given on how and where to install your box at your home, as well as how to best care for your box during the nesting season.

Registration is required for all participants. Spaces are limited, so please be sure you sign up and pay to finalize your registration spot. We will not be able to take walk up participants.

All payments are final. Refunds will not be given for registrations cancelled after March 2^nd.

Programs are rain or shine but will be cancelled for severe weather. You will be contacted if the program is cancelled due to a severe weather forecast.

NOTE: Please bring a hammer. A limited number of loaners will be available for the program if you do not have your own. Please contact rsheeler@pa.gov in advance if you need a loaner.
