Birding with Baird - Great Backyard Bird Count Edition
3025 New Holland Road, Reading, PA 19607
Each February, for four days, the world comes together for the love of birds. Over these four days Cornell Lab of Ornithology invites people to spend time in their favorite places watching and counting as many birds as they can find and reporting them. These observations help scientists better understand global bird populations before one of their annual migrations.
Join us at Nolde Forest for a winter bird walk with Baird Ornithological Club as part of the global Great Backyard Bird Count.
Registration is required for all participants (both adults and children). Spaces are limited, so please be sure you sign up by clicking the green box in the upper righthand corner. We will not be able to take walk up participants.
*This program is for adults and children ages 12+. Families with younger children can register for the family program that is being offered at 11am. Registration is also required for that program.*
Questions regarding this program should be directed to Nolde Forest educator, Rebekah, at rsheeler@pa.gov
Programs are rain or shine but will be cancelled for severe weather. You will be contacted if the program is cancelled due to a severe weather forecast.
NOTE: Please bring your own binoculars if you have them. Loaners will be available for the program if you do not own binoculars.
Due to the increasing popularity of our programming and the growing number of people on the waitlist for programs, we require a 24-hour cancellation notice for all programs. This will allow us time to reach out to other participants/families on the wait list and allow them to fill your spot. Individuals who repeatedly do not cancel before the program and who repeatedly do not show up to the program will be prohibited from signing up for future programs.
