Learn a new hobby that you can do from the comfort of your own back yard; join our DCNR staff near the pool and picnic area for an introduction to birding, and binocular use! Take a quick lesson on how to use a pair of binoculars and then walk the park to practice it yourself on the songbirds, raptors, and waterfowl that frequent this area. Learn how to utilize popular birding apps like Merlin to make birding easier and more accessible! A limited number of binoculars will be available for use, but participants are encouraged to bring a pair if they have them. This program will be canceled in the event of adverse weather conditions.
