Bird Box Volunteers Needed
1112 River Road, Washington Crossing, PA 18977
March 15 and March 22
10:00am - 12:00pm
Are you interested in helping or learning more about birds that inhabit WCHP?
Become a Bird Box Volunteer and make a positive impact in your environmental community!
As a bird box volunteer, you will be part of the PA State Park Cavity Nesting Program team, whose aim is to provide habitat for declining cavity-nesting populations.
Species of interest that you will help to monitor include Eastern Bluebirds, Black-capped Chickadees, Tree Swallows, and House Wrens.
Volunteers will be trained on how to correctly identify all four species of interest in addition to best practices on record
keeping information on bird nests, eggs, young, and more.
Volunteers are expected to check and
monitor boxes once a week during April - July.
Volunteers will be provided with all required tools and materials.
Two training days are available. You will only need to attend one training day.
