Beginner Birders
Do you see or hear many birds near your home and wish you could identify who they are? If so, join our environmental educator to learn the basic skills in birding. We will discuss how to properly use binoculars, and we will recommend and review apps, field guides, and books to assist you in your birding journey. After reviewing the birding essentials, we will embark on a short, easy walk around the park to observe popular birds at R.B. Winter State Park.
Participants should plan to meet our environmental educator inside the Halfway Run Environmental Learning Center.
This program is recommended for beginner birders! We will have a limited supply of binoculars and field guides, but guests are encouraged to bring their own supplies if they desire.
