B.A.R.K. Walk
1579 State Park Road, Newport, PA 17074-9428
** 1/23 ** Dates updated for spring **
Do you have a 4-legged friend who is well behaved and deserves recognition? Join us to make him or her into an official B.A.R.K. Ranger!
B.A.R.K. Stands for:
Bag your pet's waste
Always stay on a leash
Respect wildlife & hikers
Know where you can go
State parks are very pet-friendly, but for health and safety there are some rules regarding pets in parks. For example, only certified service animals are permitted in the swimming pool area, but all leashed pets are welcome in the picnic areas. In this program, we will talk about pets in parks and offer owners tips and tricks to help make their furry friend a model park ambassador!
BARK Walks will meet at the main boat launch on Boat Launch Road. We will walk the Fisherman's Trail.
If you are not able to make this walk, or your furry friend is not so friendly with other pets, you can do this program on your own. Make sure you pick up a B.A.R.K. Ranger pamphlet, available at park kiosks across the park and at the park office.
This is a free program and all dogs (and other pets!) are welcome to become B.A.R.K. Rangers.
Pets that complete the program will be sworn in as a “B.A.R.K. Ranger” and will receive a signed certificate. We also have a limited edition B.A.R.K. Ranger key chain that can be purchased for $5.
