Bald Eagle Knap-In: Primitive Arts Festival & Atlatl Tournament

The Susquehanna Valley Flint Knappers and Bald Eagle State Park present the annual Bald Eagle Knap-In Primitive Arts Festival & Atlatl Tournament.

This year’s event will be held on Friday, June 22 & Saturday, June 23.

This exciting two-day festival will transport you back to a time of primitive life through hands on programming and exhibits!  Featuring: stone tool construction, live encampment displays, arrowhead collections, a drum and dance team, an atlatl range, deer hide tanning, period vendors, primitive skills programming and presentations!  Try your hand at primitive weaponry, craft your own arrowhead, make rope from native plants, become educated on wild edibles, how to make a matchless fire, and more!  Watch, participate, and learn the crafts of native people during this two-day immersion of cultural history that will take place at the Schencks Grove Picnic Area at Bald Eagle State Park.

Open Atlatl Range and Atlatl Tournament SIGN UP (Range): Ongoing all evening

Flint Knapping Demonstration (Tent A): Ongoing all evening

Archery Demonstration (Range) 6:00pm- 7:00 pm

Eastern Long Hunter Presentation (Pav. 4): 7:00pm – 8:00pm                     


Open Range and Atlatl Tournament SIGN UP (Range): Ongoing all day. Tournament at 3

Flint Knapping Demonstrations (Tent A): Ongoing all day.

Making a Tool (Tent B) 10am-11pm

Hand Drilling Pendants and Gorgets (Tent B) 11am – 12pm

Native American Story Telling (Tent B): 12pm – 1pm

Arrowhead Auction (Tent B): 1pm – 2pm

Wild Edibles Walk (Meet at Tent A) 2pm- 3pm

Drum and Dance Demonstration (Field) 2:30pm- 3:30 pm

Atlatl Tournament (Range) 3pm

Primitive Fire 4pm- 5pm

Drum and Dance Demonstration (Field):  5:00pm – 6:00pm
