Apple Festival
Sunday, October 17, 2021 10am to 3pm
Apple Festival
1579 State Park Road, Newport, PA 17074-9428
Come out and visit us for our annual Apple Festival! See demonstrations of cider squeezing, apple butter boiling, and corn grinding at historic Shoaff’s Mill in Little Buffalo State Park. Sample fresh squeezed cider and cornbread while enjoying folk music & activities. More details to come as we continue to plan! See our schedule below.
This event is free and there are activities for all ages. Pets are allowed, but please keep in mind that this is a crowded area and your pet will not enjoy this as much as you do. Pets will NOT be allowed inside the Mill during the festival - exceptions will be certified service animals ONLY due to crowds.
Parking will mostly be in the field across the road. We will have handicap *drop-off* only next to the mill - all handicap parking will be in the East Area near Pavilion 3 and the stage - follow Boat Launch Road.
**Please obey traffic signs and rangers helping us with parking. **
If you would like to purchase apple butter please bring your own clean, marked jars. Some jars will be available but they are limited. Apple Butter is made by volunteers with the Perry Historians and apple butter proceeds benefit the Historians.
This event is organized by the Friends of Little Buffalo, and cornmeal proceeds and donations stay here with the park to continue to provide these festivals and to provide recreational opportunities for park visitors. Cornmeal will be for sale after the festival at the park office.
Volunteers are needed to help in a variety of areas. For more information or if you would like to volunteer, contact the park office by calling 717-567-9255 or by emailing littlebuffsp@pa.gov.
Current COVID guidelines request that unvaccinated visitors wear masks when around visitors, and all visitors wear masks inside of the mill and other buildings. This could change. Check this page or the DCNR Calendar for updates.
