10 Lower Pine Bottom Rd, Waterville, PA 17776

Free Event

Hidden Gems of the Tiadaghton series - With nearly 150,000 acres of land in the Tiadaghton State Forest, there is bound to be some incredible, interesting, and beautiful sites that most people just aren’t aware of. In this series of programs, you will get to see a variety of these unsuspecting areas.

December 1, 1959: Alleghany Airlines Flight 371 crashes into the north face of Bald Eagle mountain after a failed landing attempt at Williamsport Airport, killing 25 of the 26 on board. Join local historians and crash-site enthusiasts Shane Collins and Mark Avery on a very difficult hike to the crash site, which is an official archeological site protected by the State Historic & Museum Commission, to learn about what happened that fateful day and see the remains of the plane that still lie on the mountainside.

NOTE: This program will take place in the south block of the district, south of Williamsport off of Route 15, and not in the Pine Creek Valley.

Registration required, space limited to 20 participants. Please register by clicking the green "Register" button to the right. Meeting location will be sent to registered participants. Free program.
