Presque Isle State Park

Presque Isle State Park is a 3,200-acre sandy peninsula that arches into Lake Erie. As Pennsylvania's only "seashore," Presque Isle offers its visitors a beautiful coastline and many recreational activities, including swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, bicycling and in-line skating. A National Natural Landmark, Presque Isle is a favorite spot for migrating birds. Because of the many unique habitats, Presque Isle contains a greater number of the state's endangered, threatened and rare species than any other area of comparable size in Pennsylvania.

I cannot review this event because it never happened. Due to the ignorant, inconsiderate people who signed up online for this event and then failed to show up, the event was cancelled. To say that I am disappointed and upset is an understatement. It is very disheartening that people are so inconsiderate especially when the staff and volunteers do such an excellent job of planning and preparing for these events. I loved the ability to sign up on line but fear this will be eliminated due to high number of no shows. Most likely I will not be able to sign up for this event again because all the available dates are taken. And not sure if I want to waste my time driving to the event only to be informed it is cancelled once again. I don't know of a viable solution to eliminate or at least minimize the no shows. My suggestion is to put the no shows on a list and when they sign up for an event, they are placed on the waiting list or charged a no show fee which must be paid prior to signing up for another event.

Another great program. Those who sign up but don't show up are missing great programs. The DCNR educators always make their programs informative and fun. Can't wait for the next installment in the Primitive Skill Series.

I wouldn't know how it was yesterday since I am not scheduled until 7/13. But, if it is like any of the programs presented by the DCNR educators, it should be great. I am looking forward to the event.

I conducted this tour for my graduating class. Everyone was pleased with the opportunity to have access to the park in this way and enjoyed the nature facts and history of the area. This is an offering on the park that many do not know about!

As always, the program was well presented with obvious care to preparation. The slide show was appropriate and there were many objects that provided first-hand experience. Emily was personable, approachable and at ease. She provided good information and answered questions adequately. I would recommend this program become a "regular" in the program rotation. There was a lot of interest and I think there were many people who were unable to attend due to size of venue and number of those interested. The Lighthouse volunteers/staff were happy to provide an assist and we handed out a few volunteer applications!

A pleasant, unique experience. I personally would walk a longer distance. I enjoy the unique opportunity to walk the Lake Road in the dead of winter, after park operation hours, with the sound of waves crash to shore, and the Erie bayfront's city lighting glowing across the Presque Isle Bay.

Informative, well organized with a good presentation, but lacked the creativity of Christmas ornaments as last years 3 stations nature ornaments presented.

It was fabulous! I can't thank our guides enough for how knowledgeable they were about the region and how diligent they were about pointing out the wildlife so that the visual became meaningful. I can't wait to do this again! Thanks DCNR!
