Presque Isle Naturalists are bringing back a favorite! Watershed Education for teachers is exciting, informative and important. There are many current issues in the news about how water affects everyone's daily lives. This program connects the students with their community to study both the historical and current impacts of the watershed.
This workshop is for educators teaching grades 6-12. Educators will receive the Bureau of State Parks award-winning Watershed Education Curriculum and additional resource materials, plus the opportunity to share data and experiences through the WE database, and networking opportunities. Chemical testing for water quality, stream mapping and delineation, macroinvertebrate I.D, how to measure physical parameters of a stream and much more will be covered.
Meet in Room 112 of the Tom Ridge Environmental Center April 8 and 9, 2017, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, with both days required. Fifteen (15) Act 48 credits will be earned for this course. (Bring your PPID#.)
