Presque Isle History Series

Presque Isle State Park is a unique sandy peninsula that is constantly changing from natural forces. Throughout history, the peninsula has had a significant impact on shaping Erie’s culture. Join park naturalists at the Tom Ridge Environmental Center to discover Presque Isle’s history.

January 8 - hear stories of Shipwrecks within the Bay and around the peninsula.

January 22 - discover Presque Isle by Aerial View, and experience how the peninsula has changed from 1923 to present.

January 29 - enjoy the history of Ground Hog Day in Pennsylvania. All talks appropriate for all ages.

No fee or registration required.

Programming is subject to modification or cancellation at the discretion of park staff.  If you need an accommodation to participate in Park activities due to a disability, please contact Presque Isle State Park at 814-833-7424 to make arrangements for your visit.  With at least three days’ notice, interpreters for people who are deaf or hard of hearing are available for educational programs.  Please call the Erie ASL Interpreters’ Office at (814) 806-2511 for more information about this service.
