Nature Hikes
Get out and explore the natural world on one of our many guided nature hikes! These hikes are for novice hikers and experienced trail-blazers, alike! The hikes are ranked by the following coding:
Terrain - A) paved path
B) soft ground/gravel
C) trail w/gentle hills
D) trail w/steep hills and some rough terrain
E) rough terrain - for experienced hikers only

No matter which group you fall into, we’re all out here for the same reason - to explore the natural world and connect with nature. These are not hikes for the destination-seekers among us, they are meant to awaken our curiosity and nurture our connection to the natural world.
To participate in all hikes, you must bring with you the following:
- - Extra water & snacks
- - Personal medicine (including but not limited to a personal inhaler, epi-pen, insulin, etc.)
- - Additional layers and rain gear (when applicable)
- - Appropriate footwear - absolutely NO FLIP-FLOPS or open-toed shoes will be permitted
Directions to the different trailheads will be given when you call to register for a hike.

DIRECTIONS TO ELEPHANT TRAIL HEAD AT ELEPHANT ROAD PARKING LOT FROM THE MAIN PARK OFFICE:
- 1. From the park office parking lot, head southwest by turning left onto Route 563/ Mountain View Drive.

- 2. Proceed 3.5 miles to the intersection of PA-313 E / 563 S and turn left.

- 3. Proceed 0.7 miles to Three Mile Run Road and turn left.

- 4. Proceed 1.2 miles to Sterner Mill Road and turn right.

- 5. Proceed 0.2 miles and continue on to Elephant Road.

- 6. Proceed 0.1 miles and turn left into the parking lot off of Elephant Road and park.

DIRECTIONS TO OLD MILL TRAIL HEAD AT BETHLEHEM ROAD PARKING LOT FROM THE PARK OFFICE:
- 1. From the park office parking lot, head southwest by turning left onto Route 563/ Mountain View Drive.

- 2. Proceed 1.3 miles to Bethlehem Road and turn left.

- 3. Proceed 1.1 miles to the dead end of the road and park in either of the two lots located there.

DIRECTIONS TO MINK TRAIL HEAD AT OLD RIDGE ROAD PARKING LOT FROM THE PARK OFFICE:
- 1. From the park office parking lot, head southwest by turning left onto Route 563/ Mountain View Drive.

- 2. Proceed 3.5 miles to PA 313-E / PA563-S and turn left.

- 3. Proceed 1.2 miles to N Ridge Road and turn left.

- 4. Proceed 4.5 miles to Old Ridge Road/Ridge Road and turn left.

- 5. Continue on Old Ridge Road/Ridge Road for 0.4 miles to the dead end of the road and park in the lot located there.
DIRECTIONS TO HIGH BRIDGE TRAIL HEAD AT WEISEL HOSTEL/HIGH BRIDGE TRAILHEAD FROM THE PARK OFFICE:
WEISEL HOSTEL ADDRESS:
7347 Richlandtown Rd, Quakertown, PA 18951
*Park in the Weisel Hostel parking lot. The trailhead will be behind the hostel.
- 1. From the Park Office, head south on Rt. 563 by taking a left out of the park office parking lot.

- 2. Drive 2.6 miles on Rt. 563 S to Sterner Mill Rd.

- 3. Take a right onto Sterner Mill Rd.

- 4. Drive 325 feet to Richlandtown Rd and take a right.

- 5. Continue 0.6 miles on Richlandtown Rd until you reach the Weisel Hostel.

- 6. Park in the Weisel Hostel parking lot, which is located to the right of the driveway. The trailhead will be behind the hostel.

- 1. From the park office parking lot, head southwest by turning left onto Route 563/ Mountain View Drive.
