Introduction to Snowshoeing*
Saturday, January 13
Saturday, January 27
Saturday, February 24
Time: 9:00 AM
Meet: Park Office
Join park staff for a learn-to-snowshoe program! We’ll learn the parts of a snowshoe, how they work, and go on a short snowshoe hike. Participants should dress in waterproof shoes, layers and avoid cotton like blue jeans or sweatpants. Snow pants or rain pants will keep you warmer and drier!
*If there is not at least 6” of snow, we’ll go on a short hike instead.
1/3/18 UPDATE: we do not expect to have sufficient snow on January 13th, so we will not be using the snowshoes.
1/12/18 UPDATE: There is not currently any snow on the ground. Instead of snowshoeing on January 13, we will offer a short hike. However, the weather forecast shows a wintry mix in the morning. There are two other opportunities for this program: January 27 and February 24. Please note that we are not cancelling tomorrow’s program at this time, but may do so if conditions become unsafe in the morning.
2/23/18 UPDATE: There is not curently any snow on the ground. Instead of snowshoeing on February 24, we will offer a short hike. However, with recent rains the trails will be very muddy. Please dress for the conditions.
