Other Hike Planned:  Beltzville On the Move Hiking Series

5/7/17 – A Walk Back in Time –  Christman will lead a hike on the old farmstead, pointing out artifacts remaining after 50 years.  He will also open Kibler School for the hikers.  He will also illustrate his talk with photos from there 50s.  Dr. Roy Christman grew up on the Christman Farm, owned and operated by his father and two uncles.  The 460 acre farm was the largest farm in what is now Beltzville State Park.  Christman, who received his Ph.D. in political science from Penn State, taught at San Jose State until his retirement in 2002.  He and his wife Linda moved back to the old farmhouse and put the remaining 23 acres of the farm into the Pennsylvania Farmland Preservation Program.
