Cycling Cook Forest: Have You Done the Bike Route?

Please bring your bikes & helmuts and meet at the Forest Drive parking lot for a challenging 11 mile interpretive mountain biking tour on Cook Forest’s Bike Route.  The route starts off flat, but soon drops 200 vertical feet along the Hefren Run Trail to the Tom’s Run Valley.  We will ascend the valley along Tom’s Run Road working our way into North Pine Grove and beyond on seldom travelled back country dirt roads.  After climbing & descending over 1800ft of elevation, we’ll eventually wind our way into the “Back 40” of the Forest Cathedral, ending our route on a long easy descend on Forest Drive back to our starting point.  We’ll be stopping at various points of interest along the way to observe the 1926 Hill Brothers Fur Company carvings, historic Cobb Town, and goshawk nests in the Forest Cathedral.
