Cherry Springs Star Party: Public Night

The general public is invited to attend this evening of the Cherry Springs Star Party hosted by the Astronomical Society of Harrisburg. This is a great opportunity for the general public to take a look through the many different types of telescopes set up on the field and speak with the visiting astronomers. Bring a small flashlight as red filters will be provided. This event will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather. You can call and check after 3pm on Thursday June 22nd by calling 814-435-1037 and selecting option 5 for program updates.

Visitors to the program should plan on arriving before darkness falls.

The park asks that visitors to the Night Sky programs to please leave their pets at home. Dim lighting, large crowds and sensitive equipment do not create a pet friendly environment.

Visitors may want to check the Clear Sky Chart for Cherry Springs  web site for current cloud cover and viewing conditions.

The Cherry Springs Star Party will be held June 22-25, 2017. This is a pre-registration only event. It is held on the Astronomy Field of the park and you must be registered to attend for all activities except the public viewing night. There will be no public programming by park staff during this event. For more information on the full event, please go to the following website. http://www.cherrysprings.org
